Subscriptio v3.0.7 – WooCommerce Subscriptions

Subscriptionio is a WooCommerce addon for selling subscriptions. Subscriptio extends WooCommerce’s recurring payments functionality, allowing you to offer products such as magazine subscriptions, online memberships, e-learning packages, and other tangible and intangible goods.

Subscriptions can be arranged for both simple and variable items, and you can select the payment cycle, free trial period, subscription length, and setup charge. When a customer purchases a subscription, a subscription flow is initiated, which includes the events listed below in chronological order:

  1. Order has been placed.
  2. Payment has been received (skipped in case of trial with no setup fee)
  3. The subscription has been enabled (or enters an optional trial period)
  4. Order for renewal has been placed.
  5. Payment reminders have been sent.
  6. Make an attempt to complete an automatic payment (if payment gateway supports Subscriptio)
  7. Overdue subscriptions are marked as such (grace period; optional)
  8. Payment reminders have been sent to customers who have fallen behind on their payments (optional)
  9. Subscription has been canceled (optional)
  10. Cancellation notices were sent out (optional)
  11. If no payment is received, the subscription will be cancelled.
  12. The subscription period has ended (if not cancelled by the time maximum subscription length is reached)

Subscriptions can be paused, resumed, or cancelled by both store managers and customers. Customers, on the other hand, can opt out of this option. More configuration options are available, such as when reminders should be delivered, the length of the suspension time, and so on. Developers can also take advantage of numerous hooks and filters.

Payment Processing

Semi-automated and fully automatic billing are both supported by Subscriptio. Customers who have semi-automated billing receive an email at the start of each billing cycle, click on a Pay Now link, and manually make their payments. Payments are made automatically in the case of fully automatic billing, and no action is required.

Subscriptio works with all WooCommerce payment gateway plugins for semi-automated billing.

Subscriptio requires some unique functionality in the payment gateway extension that allows Subscriptio to receive recurring payments at its own discretion in order to fully automate billing.

Stripe and PayPal Express Checkout are two built-in payment gateway extensions in Subscriptio that enable fully automatic billing right out of the box. They have all of the features necessary by Subscriptio and can also be used as ordinary payment methods.

Please note that in order for the built-in PayPal Express Checkout extension to process recurring payments, your PayPal account must have Reference Transactions enabled, which may require you to pay a monthly fee to PayPal – if in question, contact PayPal support.
